Employment

One of the most rewarding and valuable experiences you have this summer could be working at one or more Don Eddy Basketball Camps (DEBB). Our camp emphasis is on teaching and learning the skills of shooting and 1 on 1 play. We use a Master Teaching System so it is easy for coaches to adapt to what we are doing. DEBB camps are mentally challenging and somewhat of a physical demand (be prepared to stand on your feet!). It takes a special individual to reach our campers through the skills, drills and inspirational activities. Conducting our camps in a Christian atmosphere is a springboard to teaching both campers and coaches, that their life has purpose and meaning. As a coach, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the game, make new friends, and network with other coaches.

What you can expect:
To communicate with the camp director before the start of camp
To work with campers ages 7 to 18
Officiate and /or commission a group event such as 3 on 3, 5 on 5, or Shooting teams
Grow professionally and personally as a coach

What we expect:
Come to camp ready to learn (DVDs are sent for pre-camp preparation)
Be on time for staff meetings and all sessions
Instruct and officiate with authority and fairness
Treat our campers with respect

Camp Assignments and Pay Day
We make every effort to assign you to as many camps as you would like to work; however, the enrollment and staff cancellations often determine how many coaches are needed. If you accept an assignment, please make every effort to keep it. Staff meetings are typically held in the gymnasium or the student center. Day camp meetings are usually held on Sunday evenings and overnight camps are held on Sunday mornings. Paychecks are distributed at the conclusion of camp. If you were assigned on short notice your check will be sent to the home address on file. All pay is reported to the IRS and you will receive a 1099 form in January. If you find a discrepancy in your pay please notify the camp director in writing at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Pay scale: 1st yr…$315    2nd yr…$345    3rd yr+…$375
Overnight camps..$400 regardless of years worked

If you would like to enroll your child in camp and exchange your pay for his/her tuition, you may indicate that on your application. If a balance is due we expect you to pay it during camper check in on the first day of camp or if we owe you, you will be paid at the conclusion of camp (Thur/Fri).
